I live in the western United States, and when I'm not writing I love playing cards with my family and snuggling with my lazy kitties.
A suspected murderess flees her former life in search of
tranquility, but the past refuses to die, threatening to destroy her newfound
happiness.
Lilly Price is an abused woman on the run, but she can't hide forever. Desperate to escape public scrutiny following accusations that she hired a hit man to kill her fiancé, Lilly hopes to rebuild her life in a new town.
Widowed Zach Woodbridge is in no hurry to find another bride. He longs for a peaceful summer, writing at his lakeside cottage. Things change after an introduction to his grandmother's intriguing new assistant, Lilly.
When Lilly's secrets are revealed, can their fragile relationship weather the storm? And when a man from the past wishes to reclaim Lilly, using any force necessary, can she and Zach protect the people they love?
CONTENT WARNING: Violence, mild language, sizzling love scenes.

Thanks for having me here, Deborah.
DEBORAH: I'm glad to have you on my blog for Awesome Author Interview. I'm looking forward to reading your novel Always & Forever. I did what most people do... read the sample chapters and decide if I like the author's style, the description, the story, and I loved yours! So, tell us what inspired you to write Always & Forever?
Ah, thanks so much! That makes me feel so good. As far as inspiration, I was actually writing fantasy books before the idea for A&F hit me. But I was reading a romantic suspense (a genre I was a new reader to) and I set it aside and suddenly the thought of "I'll love you always and forever," went through my mind. I wondered what would happen if this was actually a bad thing, and not a term of endearment.
DEBORAH: Isn't it amazing how we authors can conceive an idea from hearing one word!
Who is your favorite character in the book?
That's hard. I have a lot of great characters. Zach's sister, Sarah, is fabulous though. She is Zach's greatest confidant, but she doesn't let him get away with any crap. She tells him things like she sees them, but she's also super sweet and a very good person. Plus, some of her and Zach's conversations are based on similar conversations I've had with my own big brother when discussing his romance problems. She was fun to write!
DEBORAH: I understand the difficulty of selecting a particular character after having conceived them and lived with each one for months! What are you writing now?
My current WIP is called Crime & Passion and will be available in Spring 2013. Here's the blurb:
A decorated police officer, more intent on justice than following the letter of the law, lands in trouble when a gorgeous schoolteacher finds a dead body on the beach.
Playboy Donovan Andrews knows how to have a good time--ask any woman in town. But when it comes to men abusing their wives or children, Donovan takes it upon himself to make them regret it.
Madeline Scott visited her fiancĂ© the night before their wedding—only to find him sleeping with another woman. All Madeline wants is a quiet place to heal, far away from cheating, womanizing men. Everything changes when she stumbles upon the body and witnesses someone fleeing the scene.
The victim is a wife beater Donovan had a recent altercation with, and Donovan quickly becomes the prime suspect. He turns to Madeline, hoping she can help clear his name. However, the passion between them may prove more dangerous than the elusive killer.
DEBORAH: That sure sounds exciting! What is your favorite genre when it comes to writing?
Although I really wanted to write fantasy, I've found that for some reason romantic suspense is really easy for me to write. The ideas flow very easily and I have so much fun. I think it's just the genre I was meant for.
DEBORAH: I love romantic suspense and mystery and of course paranormal.
When did you know you wanted to write a novel?
My story is different from a lot of writers. Although I've always had an active imagination and done a lot of daydreaming, I never thought I could write a book until about six years ago. There simply wasn't another dragon book I could find that I wanted to read and I decided to write one. It will never see publication (really quite horrible), but I learned a lot writing that first book!
DEBORAH: Glad you discovered you could write! When you're not writing, what do you like to do?
I love music of all sorts, so having my MP3 player going and singing my lungs out happens often. Of course, reading is something I love to do as well. Spending time with my family is important too. We have family dinners as often as possible and are always up for playing a card game of Pinochle or Shanghai Rummy.
Thanks so much for having me here, Deborah! I'm excited to read your books as well, especially the Undeparted Series! Congrats on your upcoming release The Banished One!
DEBORAH: Thanks Chantel. I'm exctied about the series and The Banished One. TheBanished One is a spicy version for 18+, and what's really awesome is that I have a celebrity guest, actor/writer Jordan Rhodes, coming on my blog December 1 to talk about it! He's been very supportive of my writing; I'm honored to have a celebrity such as himself support me!
