FLIP FLOP FRIDAY w Tara Caputo

Teahoney's Book Cafe
Dive into a good book, is Tara's motto!
"I am a 32 year old, married, working mom who loves to read and can't get enough. No matter how busy my day is there is always room for a good book and a cup of tea!" Tara Caputo

Tara has already read 87 books towards her goal of 100. I am honored to say that
The Undeparted Series
was part of her reading library.
I've had Tara in the house before on my old blog for Flip Flop Friday Interviews and found her so delightful, I asked her back!
Here's the interview from first time around:
DEBORAH: When did you realize you loved to read?
From what I can remember it was probably around 1st grade when we did "Book It". I read the most books in my class and won a bike! What better incentive at that age?!
DEBORAH: That was a great incentive! Do you remember the first book you really loved?
It's a toss up between Tiger Eyes or Are You There God? It's me, Margaret. (both by Judy Blume)

DEBORAH: How many books a week do you read?
I read at least 3 but more like 5 a week.

DEBORAH You are a voracious reader; an author'a dream! Tell us what your favorite genre is?
 I'm a sucker for romance!

DEBORAH: I don't blame you; think we all are! How do you feel about Indie authors?
I love Indie Authors!! I would be missing out on some great books if it weren't for them!
DEBORAH: Do you prefer to read ebooks or paperback?
E books are convenient but there is something about holding an actual book that I just love.

DEBORAH: Just for the record, my books are available in ebook and paperback! Back to Indie authors; have you discovered any good authors?
TARA: Yes! Other than you, Deborah Palumbo, I am loving Colleen Hoover, S.C. Stephens, Jamie McGuire, Abbi Glines, K.A. Linde, Olivia Cunning, Tara Sivec and J.R. Ward.

DEBORAH: Thanks for discovering me Tara! And thanks for sharing yourself with us.
Well, this has been a pleasure. I just think Tara is a great person, full of life and certainly full of love for the written word! Please check out her sites and give her a follow!!

MY NEWEST NOVEL

I'M REALLY EXCITED TO INTRODUCE
THE BANISHED ONE
BOOK THREE IN THE UNDEPARTED SERIES
HERE'S AN EXCERPT:

Even then in his dream he felt the feel of those breasts in his hands, and in the twilight that he now slept, he smelled that lilac perfume. He remembered the feel of her skin, the softness, the silk of it. He almost felt as if he had connected with the past, calling it out of yesterday into being today. He remembered many of his conquests as he lay in gentle slumber, none of whom he loved. But there was one, a special one. He didn't love her, but he possessed her and loved possessing that one. She was tall and dark haired with an elegant stride. Oh yes he remembered that one. She had vowed revenge when he banished her from his home and clan; so foolish of her to think she could exact revenge on the father of all vampires. But she was a woman scorned.
That dream faded and suddenly the lilac enticed him and as if he was fondling her breasts, Gossamer's memory continued.

MY REVIEW OF TOM GABBAY, BAQUBA

This is my first Tom Gabbay novel and certainly not my last!

Short n simple: This novel is about 3 Iraqui comrades who return home from the horrors of combat, only to struggle in their personal lives. But the way Tom Gabbay weaves the story and their lives is masterful and utterly entertaining!
Tom Gabbay is a wonderful story teller who writes in intricate detail, bringing his magnificent story to life with captivating characters that draw you into their lives as if they're old friends. From word one to the last word, I was completely entertained. I would highly recommend this book and Tom Gabbay. Look forward to reading more books he's written. 5 out of 5 stars!

THE UNDEPARTED SEQUEL

THE UNDEPARTED SEQUEL

Hey everybody, since I am soon to release my 3rd book in The Undeparted vampire series called The Banished One, and it's so close to Halloween, I'd talk about, now ready for this?? Vampires!
I dedicated a page on my website, www.deborahpalumbo.com entitled Very Vampire since so many people have the vampire bug and truly are fascinated with these fanged immortals. Here's a tidbit of what's on my website.
We all know that Bram Stoker was the wizard behind Dracula, the most famous horror story ever written. He created the story in 1897 and because of him and his awesome tale, we've got vampires on our brains; our culture is thoroughly hooked.
But did you know that vampires are folkloric creatures that go back to the ancient times in Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome, and even prehistoric times? Can you believe that? Yep, belief in vampires has existed for a millennia.
Of course, it wasn't until the early 18th century in southeastern Europe that the word vampire became popularized; so popular in fact, mass hysteria regarding the belief in blood sucking immortals caused people to accuse others of vampirism and those accused were actually executed!
During this time and thereafter there was a wide range of thoughts regarding their appearance from nearly human to rotting corpses, but it was actually the Christian church and the 1819 novella Vampyre by John Polidon that helped formed the vampire concept as we know it.
But as I said earlier, Bram Stoker's Dracula is the novel that provides the basis of modern vampire fiction.
The original folklore and I'm sure the hysteria and crossover from horror tales to more than superstition had sparked Bram's imagination and viola! Dracula was born.
Dracula created our universal obsession, if you will, and became a big part of our culture. So big in fact, Wall Street says vampires are worth $10 billion to our economy.
Now that's a lot of bread...or should I say, a lot of blood!
So you can see vampire literature has been around for a long time; even longer than Dracula. In fact, the first vampire appeared in literature in a seventeen hundred's poem which by the way already had erotic undertones; this was the predecessor to gothic vampire literature.
Novels from the 1800's have run the spectrum from Sheridan Le Fanu's tale of a lesbian vampire, Carmilla, to the best in the genre, Dracula. But in our day vampire stories are thoroughly diverse, expanding into crime, sci-fi, fantasy, and Chick-Lit. And besides our typical fanged vampires, new portrayals include aliens and plants with vampiric abilities; some do not consume blood believe it or not; they live on energy.
All of this totally makes my point that we are hooked on anything vampire, and we are completely willing to embrace new versions, gain new insights into their behaviors, welcome any vampire into our obsession.
Obsession huh? Well, what if we're not obsessed, only intuitive?
Now we've all been taught that vampires are nothing more than fictitious creatures and nothing else, spawned from Stoker's imagination. But don't you think it's pretty interesting that vampires have been around since prehistoric times and then on the minds of the ancient cultures?
I'm of the belief where there's smoke, there's fire.
Yeah, I'm trying to tell you that maybe Bram didn't have as good of an imagination as we thought. Maybe he knew something that we refuse to believe. Maybe when people executed the vampires during the mass hysteria of the eighteenth century they didn't do a very good job and they're still around.
It's just a thought.
But while we digest this new idea of the existence of vampires, I will say that Bram's imagination strayed when it came to crosses and coffins and sun. His vampires are completely contrary to the ones in my novels....Quentin, Christian, Lucius and Cassandra.
You didn't think I'd write this page without mention of my paranormal romance/mystery series, did you? So aren't you just a tad bit curious, don't you just have to find out for yourself about Quentin, Christian, Lucius and Cassandra and THE UNDEPARTED?
I will tell you this one thing: Vampires CAN come out during the day; day or night, it doesn't matter. They're just like us in that regard, so no one is safe because the sun has risen. No one!
THE UNDEPARTED and THE ASCENT OF THE UNDEPARTED are for sale on Amazon.

My Review of The Vampire Chronicles

Jodie Pierce weaves a story that is so imaginative and well crafted, and her characters are so real, you think you know them, are part of their lives. You turn the pages one after the other, unable to put the book down, whether dinner is calling, or sleep is needed, or you've got a task to do, you keep on reading! You just have to find out what is going to happen next!

THE UNDEPARTED REVIEWS

CHECK OUT THESE  FABULOUS REVIEWS OF MY PARANORMAL SERIES,
5.0 out of 5 stars I had read a few reviews on this book; which peaked my interest. I bought it and read it in one day. My husband made dinner, while chuckling and saying, "that must be a good one."
Well, it was. It started out with a young woman being attacked and bitten in her kitchen, at least she thought she was... There were no signs of an attack or a bite and her husband was not accepting her story and it hurt and confused her. Was she hallucinating? She tried to keep up with work, but it kept gnawing at her.

This book will draw you in from page one and if you are like me, you won't be able to put it down. Before I finished this book, I bought the Ascent of the Undeparted.

Be smart, just buy them both. Deborah Palumbo, Congrats.

IVE BEEN REVIEWED

THE DOCTORS
Here are two of those awesome reviews:

This review is from: The Doctors (Kindle Edition)
Deborah Palumbo pens a winner with her book The Doctors. This book about has it all. Suspense, evil, mystery, romance, crime, the mob and medical mayhem.

Dr. Lanny Loch and Dr. Richard Pathroff are 2 men that I wouldn't wish even my worst enemy to have as their doctor. Loch is all charm with the blackest heart imaginable and Pathroff thinks he is God's gift to woman with the morals of a slithering snake. Both are cardiologists who may know how the heart functions from a strictly biological viewpoint, but have no clue how it acts/reacts/feels from a human standpoint lacking that ability themselves. They work for the mob and are all about the money and the finer things in life.

IT'S HERE; IVE BEEN INTERVIEWED

MY INTERVIEW, MY INTERVIEW.
Hear me shouting from the rooftops?
Please, check it out because Shalyn at PR BOOKS is a wonderful young lady, has a great blog, and is on the pulse of things!
AND
I get to chew your ear off for a couple of minutes!

I AM BEING INTERVIEWED SUNDAY 10/14

Hi Everyone,
I'm being interviewed by one of my favorite bloggers in cyberspace, Shalyn from prbook reviews!
Please join us on her blog tomorrow Sunday 10/14
I hope to see you all there!

IS IT MAGIC OR THE SUPERNATURAL?

I was thinking about the supernatural today when I was writing a chapter in my new book in The Undeparted series where a skeptic becomes a believer in vampires. Then I remembered how in the first book of the series Cassandra just couldn't believe that what she was seeing was real; she thought the vampire Quentin was using some kind of parlor trick to vanish in and out, some Houdini magic. That got me thinking of my great great grandfather Carl Brema. He was not only a master performing magician, but he was the inventor of magic, including the magical apparatus for Houdini and Blackstone. There's a book written about my GG grandpa called, The Brema Brasses.

Well anyway, Carl mystified his audience with feats of magic. Maybe we are too quick to dismiss the supernatural and label it "magic" like Cassandra in The Undeparted or Lieutenant Hamilton Welby in The Banished One who quickly dismissed the supernatural as magical exploits.

Maybe the hand isn't quicker than the eye after all, and Carl really was more mystifying than previously thought! Great great grandfather, thank you for leaving me, for leaving the world of magic, your legacy! You've given us something to ponder: Is it magic or is it the supernatural?

My Review of LJ Kentowski's Guardian of Fate

An imaginative tale, intriguing characters, romance, heaven, hell, good and evil. The Guardian of Fate has it all.

FLIP FLOP FRIDAY INTERVIEW

Hi Everyone! This is a spin off from my "other" blog where I interview bloggers instead of the other way around; hence the silly name, Flip Flop Friday interviews. Look for future Flip Flop Interviews here every Friday for the next 5 weeks.

MY NEW NOVEL RELEASE, The Banished One

I've been asked by friends and fans when will I be releasing the 3rd book in The Undeparted series, when, when, when and my answer is...... SOON!!!! I'm just as anxious as everyone to release The Banished One
Here's an excerpt: The moon was shining through diamond paned windows, past the silk curtains, lying gently on the pale naked bodies entwined on the canopy bed. A golden chalice with red rubies sat on a nearby bed table and a bottle of 1945 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild that had cost Quentin almost $50,000 was uncorked next to it.  The taste was scintillating yes, but not as scintillating as the red juice that flowed from veins.

Hello everyone, I've got Mae Clair here today; you know, the author of WEATHERING ROCK we've been hearing so much about.   Well, she's going to discuss her debut novel and tell us a few things about herself.Mae and I met on Nings Book Blogs and we've been friends ever since. She's not only a talented writer, but is a nice person who always lends a hand no matter how busy she is!
Let's get rocking, shall we:

LIVING LIFE THROUGH THE WINDOW

THIS POST IS ABOUT FIBROMYALGIA, not a human attacker....Get the facts, get your compassion flowing, and reach out to someone who has this debilitating illness!
There she laid flat on her back; her assailant put her there. The attack ended her life as it once was. She had been a vibrant young woman, full of youth and enthusiasm and energy, and now she could barely raise her head off the pillow. Yes, she had limbs that could move, unlike a paraplegic, but she was too weak to move.
She lived life through her window.
Many friends ceased to visit; they hated to see her in that condition or they couldn't understand. Several closest friends hung in with her, her only connections were via the telephone.
At least there was no blood or gore to offend anyone if she were able to receive visitors; her assailant was insidious that way, leaving no outward blemishes, but inwardly she was struggling to regain her position in life.

THE ASCENT OF THE UNDEPARTED

is the 2nd book in The Undeparted series.
I want to thank everyone for their wonderful reviews of this book and the series. The 3rd book is a WIP and the 4th has already been conceived! I lok forward to sharing them with you.
